There are lots of changes occured in the DOP since last year, all the post offices are being computerised and due to Sify networking all the data related to SB and Mails is now connected to central server. This is a very good change for DOP to go on in today's age.
But do you also feel that we should try to be humanistic along with technology development... After all the technology developed must only assist humans to cater love amongst all. It may assist us in various ways like, fast working, centralised monitoring of all work, may be some savings to the department and also avoiding the frauds which is already less in DOP. But technology can never take place of humans. Humans are always superior to technology, even if a person knows nothing in technology. Technology will work only if humans give it the power to move and work. Can a computer work on its own? No.. not even a super computer!!!
It requires programming to be done and parameters to be set and many more things which are done by humans!!!!!
In todays age where love and care between the humans is diminishing, we need more practice of that which will help us to maintain the performance of the department along with technology. We have a good example of China and Japan where the Govt still believes in man power more than technology and whole world is witness to their development.
The superiors must maintain a good attitude towards the subordinate employees.....thats a very essential point required in Aministration. In ancient times in India, the King like Maharaja Yudhishthira and Maharaja Prithu used to go in between the public to know their problems. They themselves were very pious and were strictly following the vedic regulations and made their public also follow them. They themselves were very good examples to admire for their public. But in todays age such kings are lacking. The democratic govt has many leaders but no one is following vedic injunctions but only trying to fill his own pocket and enjoy and get work done from their subordinates by hook or by crook. They are just ignoring the real interest of themselves as well as the public. "न ते विदुः स्वार्थ गतिम् ही विष्णुः " (vedic scripture) i.e. they do not know that the real self interest or goal of humans is to satisfy Lord Vishnu, and not our own body senses and mind.
For this yuga (kaliyuga) the vedic scriptures say that "हरेर नाम हरेर नाम हरेर नाम एव केवलम, कलौ नास्ति एव नास्ति एव नास्ति एव गतिः अन्यथा " (Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu - Chaitanya Charitamrita).
In this degraded age of quarrel and hypocrisy the sankirtan of holy names of Lord Vishnu or Krishna is the only way to be delivered from the clutches of maya and to be happy and peaceful and there is no other way...
All the leaders must be devotees of the Supreme Lord because in vedic scriptures it is said that the leaders of society represent the Supreme Lord Krishna. Similarly the HODs must know that they are representatives of Lord and must act according to his instructions given in Bhagvad gita and Srimad Bhagvatam and other vedic scriptures, for the welfare of society.
In our department also our HODs must be the representatives of Lord for its proper operation and administration, otherwise the chaos will continue as in the rest of the world due to the effects of Kaliyuga. Hence all must practice Krishna consciousness at home as well as in the office, for welfare of all of us, DOP and the society.
Practicing Krishna consciousness is not sitting idle, as Lord Krishna himself ordered Arjuna to fight in the battle of Kurukshetra and not to turn back thinking that all the opponents are his own relatives... but to do his duty as per the vedic injunctions or just follow the order of Lord Krishna who is the composer of vedas, its subject matter as well as the goal of the vedic study i.e. the one to be known by studying vedas. "वेदैश्च सर्वैर अहमेव वेद्य " (BG ) i.e. Krishna tells Arjuna in Bhagvad gita that I am the subject matter of all the vedas and also the one to be known by studying the vedas.
Krishna also tells in BG 18.66 "सर्व धर्मान परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणम् व्रज, अहम् त्वाम सर्व पापेभ्यो मोक्ष ईष्यामि मा शुचः ॥
i.e. Leave all kinds of religions and surrender unto me only , I will free you of all sins, donot fear.
He says to us that do all things for my satisfaction and by doing so you will not entangle in the sinful reactions of your karma in this material world but will come to my eternal world (Goloka Vrindavan) and enjoy eternal happiness there after leaving this body. You will never return back to this material world again which is full of misery (दुखालयम अशाश्वतम ).
यत्करोषि यत्अश्नासी यद्जुहोस् ददासि यत्,
यत् तपस्यसि कौन्तेय तत कुरुष्व मद अर्पणम् ॥ (BG Chapter 9)
Whatever you do, eat, see, give or perform any austerity, o Arjuna, do it for my satisfaction only.
मन्मना भव मद भक्तः मद्याजी माम नमस्कुरु,
मामेवएश्यसी युक्त एवम आत्मानं मत परायणः ॥ (BG Chapter 9)
Always remember me, be my devotee and worship me, by doing so and being always attached to me you will attain me without doubt.
Hence Krishna consciousness is the most important factor in every matter of our personal life, this department, this country and whole universe..and so we must follow it definitely.
